User Spotlight - Michigan State Broadcast Journalism
Q. Hello! What is your name and what do you do?
A. Bob Gould and I teach broadcast journalism courses at Michigan State University. I oversee an award-winning 30 minute newscast, but also teach a beginning video class called, "video storytelling with iPhones.
Q. How did you find out about iOgrapher products?
A. I think I heard about it through my social channels and people talking about it, but got more familiar with iOgrapher at BEA.
Q. How are you using iOgrapher products?
A. All of our beginning video storytelling students shoot and edit with their phones and they are required to purchase an iOgrapher bundle, including case, tripod, lavaliere mic and light.
Q. What do you like best about iOgrapher?
A. The simplicity and mobility at a price point our students can afford. I also appreciate the service provided by Dave when there's an issue or if we have suggestions on new products or ways to make things easier for us.
Q. What are your thoughts about mobile video creation going forward?
A. I think we are only at the beginning of what will become an even greater use of mobile tech. Already, the cameras on the iPhones are incredible and the accessories like extra lenses, wireless mics, and mini lights are amazing.
Q. Anything else you would like to share?
A. The students seem to enjoy the kits and the learning curve is low for beginning college students. We can teach fundamentals of shooting and editing (composition, exposure, focus, etc) without a ton of bells and whistles so it's not intimidating. As they progress through the program, we can teach higher end cameras with the fundamentals already in place.
Thank you Bob!
