Filmmaker Uses Creativity to Inspire Unity

"Where's the Love" created by filmmaker Jerwyn Guintu

"Where's the Love?" Filmmaker Jerwyn Guintu asks. Conflicted and upset by the recent current events involving bombings and violent acts against fellow citizens, Guintu decided to take action.

He created a short video with the simple message of showing love to one another as a solution to hatred and violence.

Guinto & iOgrapher

Armed with his iPhone and the iOgrapher case, he set out on a mission to have strangers collaborate on his next video piece. He approached strangers and asked them to sing "Where is the Love" by Black Eyed Peas in memory of the recent victims: Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, the police officers in Dallas, the Orlando shooting victims, and bombings in the Middle East.

How to handle adversity:

Guinto shares how he came to the conclusion of using film to express his thoughts and share his message with others. "I've learned that in this kind of adversity we need to step up and do what we need to do even though you're not actually sure on what you need to do, just make it sure that what you're are doing is for a good cause, everything will follow."

What You Can Do

His message to you as an individual is to love one another. To his fellow filmmakers he says, go outside and shoot. Share your thoughts through creative work and stand up for what you feel is right.
