The Inspiration Behind our Brand
I started iOpgrapher simply out of necessity. At the time, I was an award-winning high school Media Arts and Animation teacher with access to only 5 cameras for over 130 students. Yeah, you do the math. I struggled with this equipment shortage by letting students shoot videos on their iPhones and iPads. What I discovered was that students were filming great quality videos but they were shaky, the audio was horrible and the lighting certainly wasn’t up to par.
I decided to start tinkering with the idea of creating a case that could attach to a mobile device. I couldn’t find anything else on the market that fit the needs I wanted for a case that could shoot smooth video with professional quality audio and light. I knew the case would need to have handles on either side, the ability to be mounted to a tripod and have better accessories like microphones, lenses and lights. And with the help of an engineer, I built a 3D model of my case. Thus, iOgrapher was born.
With iOgrapher, I have combined all of my loves - love for the film industry and my love of teaching. I spent over 25 years as a film and television producer working with Hollywood legends like Danny Aiello, Mel Gibson, Jon Voight, Steven Segal and Edward Norton and then found my calling as a high school teacher. Watching young minds at work while trying something new lights a fire! At iOgrapher, I provide a Mobile Video School and other courses to teach you how to shoot professional videos all from your mobile device.
